Salford Engineering Solutions undertake steel fabrication of primary and secondary structural steel projects for any conventional steel and pre-engineered building structures.
Whether creating new standalone structures or adding a structure to an existing traditional building such as an apartment block or a school, we offer you a comprehensive range of steelwork options.
We contract mainly for secondary steel packages, providing a turnkey design, manufacture and installation service. We are EN1090 class 3 accredited steelwork contractors.
For this Execution Class 2 project we are providing a full design, manufacturing and installation service. The disused Blackfriars textile warehouse building in central Manchester is being converted into 34 apartments. The detached four-storey red brick building is at the junction of Blackfriars Road and Cross Street. The building will have a glass extension and also a two storey glass roof terrace.
This project requires us to supply and install 96 tonnes of steel for the supporting steel framework for the building.
This project is a conversion of a derelict building into 127 apartments. The conversion will involve a clean air heat recovery system, under floor heating and air source heat pumps, creating low carbon dwellings.
For this project we provided 40 tonnes of support steel and trimming steel for a large smoke shaft renovation.
This project required us to locate 10 tonnes of support steelwork in a lift shaft. The shaft is located inside a night club. As the last of the revellers vacated the building at 4.00 a.m. our engineers gained access to implement the project.
Working on behalf of Red Tree Construction, we designed and installed the supporting steelwork for the MRI scanners in Leighton Hospital, Crewe. Each MRI scanner weighs 10 tonnes.
We have created a new steel feature staircase in Our Lady’s High School, Prestwich, Manchester. The staircase features glass and stainless steel balustrade & stairs.
We added a new steel structure to a house in Cheshire, to accommodate a new gym, swimming pool and sauna. This large domestic steelwork engineering project involved 26 ton of structural steel.
For this power station and energy reclamation plant, we manufactured and installed vessels, tanks, pipe ridges and structural support steelwork.
For examples of our structural steelwork, especially examples of restoration of listed buildings in Manchester city centre, please see also Project Summaries page.
Here at Salford Engineering Solutions, we undertook the fabrication and installation of a primary structural steel project. This project consisted of 400 ton of steel, split into 2 phases. Once our highly trained fabrication team had fabricated and painted the steel , our on-site steel erection team set up site on a live site and began phase 1.
Phase 1 consisted of the erection of the main welfare building and erecting the 16 metre link bridge, which connected the new welfare building tot the existing plant. Once phase 1 was complete our on site team proceed with phase 2 which consisted of the erection of the dispatch building, loading canopy’s and transfer corridors.
